Storyline
Rachel Chu is happy to accompany her longtime boyfriend, Nick, to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. She’s also surprised to learn that Nick’s family is extremely wealthy and he’s considered one of the country’s most eligible bachelors. Thrust into the spotlight, Rachel must now contend with jealous socialites, quirky relatives and something far, far worse — Nick’s disapproving mother.
The movie also throws some humour with family scenes of Awkwafina and Jimmy O. Yang, and these scenes are very smart and breezy. It focuses on the equal footing of a couple in a marriage and far more concerned with mutual happiness with all the wealth in between them. When you are feeling low and unlucky with zero feelings about falling in love again, this movie will just get back on track.
“I am not leaving because…. I think I’m not enough – maybe for the first time in my life I Know I Am”
-Rachel Chu
