THE FABULOUS LIVES OF BOLLYWOOD WIVES

Rating: 2 out of 5.

Before jumping into the review can we take a moment to appreciate the wardrobe of each and every lead actress and even KJo not the less. I’ve seen many negative comments regarding this show but to be honest I found this show really entertaining. Though it has its own parts of monotonous and meticulously elaborated drama it was still very fun to watch.

The impact that the promo created was to show a glimpse into the inner lives of the wives of the Bollywood superstars but somehow it gave everything other than this. It seemed like an Indian version of “ Keeping Up With the Kardashians”. We cannot see a proper destination to where the mini television series is taking us too.

The women casting starts with Maheep Kapoor, then comes Seema Khan with Bhavna Panday and lastly enters Neelam Kothari Soni. We can see the women dangling with the personal growth issue aligned with their duties as their mothers. Their relationship with their husbands seemed super staged.

Maheep Kapoor is seen totally focused on the career of her daughter and how she should tackle things ahead as she’s leaping into the Bollywood business.

Seema Khan is battling between finding her new self, her passion and her children.

Bhavna Panday is seen giving her experiences and all together seen a bit off apart from her superstitious and a loggerhead with Seema Khan.

And lastly Neelam Kothari Soni is in dilemma about whether she should return to do movies or not.

The locations shown are mere distractions to the point that there is nothing much to carry on the story with. They go to Paris for the Le Bal and then they top it off with Doha. We can see many actors in the party hosted by Gauri Khan.

This series shows nothing but Glamour! Glamour! Glamour!

This is a show in which you can love it or hate it but you cannot ignore it.

Currently streaming on Netflix.

GINNY WEDS SUNNY

Rating: 2 out of 5.

I feel 2020 is Vikrant’s year. He did good work in Dolly Kitti Aur woh Chamakte Sitare, then even in  Cargo he did a good job, and now with Ginny weds Sunny. He even has Mirzapur Season 2 in his pipeline. It seems this is his year to shine. We have seen him in many various roles and here he seems to be super let out and chilled.

So now about the movie, it’s super predictable. Boys like the girl, but she’s in love with another guy but then she starts falling for the boy and then after a lot of hiccups they get married and everyone is happy.

Yami and Vikrant did a good job. But their chemistry is not that pleasing to our eyes. It can also like so because Vikrant is seen in these types of fun roles like this. Yami as always is awesome and truly fit for the role. The role of Sunny could be more audience appealing if played by Ayushmann Khurrana or Rajkumar Rao.

The loving thing about this movie is the supportive families of both the sides. No matter how spoit the children are, the parents always supported them. There is a “I know my daughter well” mum who wants her daughter to get settled and have a family.

This movie can be described as Jab We Met but 10 times less fun and way too boring. This movie has some sloppy scenes which were not at all needed in the first place. It seemed they were trying way too hard to push the movie after the interval.

This movie can only be seen if you are a Yami or Vikrant fan. Or else it can be very boring to watch the whole film even when you just want to pass your time during the lockdown.
